Destination: Strait Jacket - II

by You Can Speak But I Can Rhyme   May 19, 2013

So let me skedaddle or skip or paddle,
Hurtling on at top speed on a horseless saddle,
Not wondering 'Why a raven's like a writing desk?'
Nor 'Which Tweedle's Dum or Dee?'
I am no Alice, I need no Rabbit hole -
All around me Mad Hatters I see..

Hatless Hatters, their mind's a hive of mindless matters;
A waking sleep of empty dreams,
They breathe, eat and walk; but to me it seems;
An existence, a sham, just a pretence,
Of higher values that run in vicious circles -
Like a serpent that ends up eating its own tail.
High ambitions with values frail..
A success story bound to fail!!

Freedom, Patriotism, Democracy, Fraternity -
All etched in blood, turmoil and atrocities,
Instilling virtues, morals, honor and saintliness -
In hollow souls overflowing with ugliness.
In a world full of beauty - devoid of colors,
I see just sickly shades and deathly pallor,
The Greens of Envy, The Reds of Rage,
No Blues of Skies, Just Grayish Haze,
The Pinks of Love lost in a Golden Maze,
The Browns of Earth, All set Ablaze,
With the Black of Evil and Whites of Grief,
Angels to Demons - A journey brief..

But all this pretence goes up in smoke,
Your poor values die timidly if you end up broke!
So laugh aloud coz life's a joke..
I might be crazy but a clever bloke.
It's better to live outside these brackets...
Am half way there - Destination Strait Jacket!!
