The One's Who Left

by You Can Speak But I Can Rhyme   May 19, 2013

Far into the night, no sign of any light,
I hear faint whispers of my past,
That haunt me still, ghosts I can't kill,
Undead memories of Ones Who didn't last.

As I cry inside, I stray outside,
There hangs a lonely moon.
Will I share its fate? It's saddened state?
Will I too be lonely soon?

So I walk alone, chilled to the bone,
I grieve, I feel bereft.
But I do not know what made them go!
They were the Ones Who Left!

When on my way, Did I go astray?
Was I wrong to do the right?
No heart I broke, No filth I spoke,
I did not hurt nor spite.

I was just me, what I'll always be,
I won't regret or change!
I was not wrong, so I am strong,
It doesn't pain. That's strange!

And in the end when my life is spent,
In the dust shall I be laid,
By the caring hands that took a stand,
They are The Ones Who Stayed.

So I move on. What's gone is gone!
And I kneel down and pray.
To bring them light, To make it right,
And love the Ones Who Stay!
