Life To Live

by summerwind   May 21, 2013

Engaged between confusion and derision
On the veracity of my truth
Swimming in your persistence
Of misgivings and doubts
Spurred by your appetite for hurt
Struggles we have to endure
Knowing that many a lifetime
Will surely pass before we understand
The roles designed for yours and mine
Or should it be that we will seek
Our own spontaneity and independence
And shake the fate out of our own hands
Because we have conceived beyond
Our celestial directions
That only you, I, sans spirit
Can really mold and design
Our future and sojourns
In many of a lifetimes to come
If only to harvest and collect
The foothold of wisdom
But when the fork is reached
And you and I will stand
Towards the mark of our light
Shall we then choose
To whom we settle in our trek
Our unfinished and crooked road?
Let us find out, shall we?
