Caterpillars

by Beautiful Chaos   May 25, 2013

Everyone thinks they know something
They hear the stories
Listen to the subtle nuances
Then adapt it to their own perceptions

One would have to be an empath to truly understand another
To know what they feel and how deeply
Not many could stand it
To be that intimate

To touch truly on how you make another feel
How the world makes them feel
We would see the need for change
For too many change breeds fear

Fearing the mirror
Their bruised pride
Facing their own imperfections
Their own poisonous venom that seeps into the world

Everyone wants to know everything
As long as it is not about them
As long as it doesnt change their own truth
Their own sense of what is real

We are caterpillars dreaming of flight
Fighting the cocoon
Afraid to be alone with ourselves
Even if it means the evolution we dream of
