Dark Symphony

by TragicChaos   May 27, 2013

Im sitting at this desk in another place and time, the
way back I can not find.
Tucked away deep within these castle walls, outside my window darkeness falls.
The halls no longer silent and still, before me sits parchment and quill.
I wear a crimson dress of fine satin and silk, my skin now the color of milk.
My hand flutters to the ribbon around my neck, to the mirror I run to check.
But deep within the perfect glass , no reflection do I see staring back.
I hear a violin start to play its chilling song, I wonder if i've been here long.
Shortly after the violin is joined by the rest of its dark symphony, my wish was granted i was now free.
Suddenly from my door a man speaks, my curiosity now piqued.
" I have watched you die a thousand deaths from afar",he says pointing to the brightest star.
From behind his back he produces a boquet of red and black roses, once in the hall my door closes.
He leads me to a room deep in my new home, I no longer havethe urge to roam.
As we enter the ones like him... Us begin to clap, In my nervousness my foot starts to tap.
He takes me and twirls me about the room in dark waltz, all of a sudden the music halts.
He leans down and bestows upon my lips a most delicate kiss, the scene nothing short of picturesque
.He whispers in my ear " to each other for eternity we are bound.", and there is peace in the life I found.
His arms so sure and strong about my waist, convey the silently message you are safe.
How I got here is a mystery, but the woman I was is now history.
My new world I embrace with open arms, ive grown to love it for all its charm

I am glad that was the feeling you had while reading it. I feel a poem is just a short story so I am glad it reads like that. Thank you :)
