Zoo

by Edward Oropeza   Jun 1, 2013

Take me to the monkey's cage
oh, to that serrated crocodile's back,

let me touch the beak of a Horn bill
I see, the owl is wide awake even in daylight,

Everywhere I see all species
brilliant and spectacular,

Some are cunning and dangerous,
Tame and wild....

Take me to the zoo
not the one that we have..

but to the zoo within me,

I saw guilt leaping,
razor of brokenness...
constriction of depressions,

oh, i just enjoying to see them through
like i enjoy watching the normal zoo.

I interpret that the zoo within you are your emotions... how you can be gentle and tame but also dangerous.

The zoo metaphor is really nice, never thought to think of my feelings that way.

    "I saw guilt leaping,
    razor of brokenness...
    constriction of depressions,"

--this is my favorite part! Guilt leaping and the constriction of depression...very nicely put!
