Pink and Beautiful

by Tess Harvester   Jun 3, 2013

The rose follows her heart
Peeks out of her swaddling
Glows pink and beautiful
Shapes into sensuality
Flares her petals
Dances in the breeze
Lures her admirers
Charms them with perfume
Absorbs their words and smiles
Basks in the summer sun
Wrinkles cell by cell
Drops layer by layer
Lands in the warm dust
Preserving her heart
Until her next season.
