Suffocation

It's like someone is sitting on your chest
Crushing your heart and lungs
Or being submerged under water, you know
Like someone is holding you down
And that person is your grief, pain, sadness, agony
All in one
You don't want to open your mouth, let the water in
No you'd rather lie their struggling under the force
And your head feels as though it may explode
But then you realize you don't want to struggle any more
You don't want to save yourself, or be saved
You stop flailing your arms and your body goes limp
You open your mouth
Breathe in the water...
