Something Else To Love

by Sigoney Holder   Jun 6, 2013

Crumbly, nutty, chocolate cake

Understands that my heart is fragile and can break

Sweet, heavenly, honeycomb

Understands that sometimes I like to be on my own

Succulent, exotic, juices which run on my tongue

Are more than happy for me to go out and have fun

Hearty, Scrumptious shepherds pie

Will never say nasty things that can make me cry

Deliciously, devilish, Devonshire ice cream

Isn't afraid to show feelings and say what they mean

Light, salty, butterkist popcorn

Has loved me since the day I was born

Crunchy, sour, granny smith

Sees my weirdness and flair for language as a precious gift

So while all other girls are being hurt by guys who are meant to come from above

I'm in my element as I've found something else to love.
