Forgotten

by Autumn Sthal   Jun 13, 2013

I feel forgotten,
left in the rain.
no hands to hold me,
no love for people to share with me.
I'm a savage,
a loner,
yet I still try
to find a hand to hold, a person who cares.
I've never touched the hand
of a person who cares, who loves me.
I'm forgotten, left alone,
with no one.
Its certain I'm forgotten,
left like a speared lion,
no help at all.
But then, as the sun rises,
peeking over the valley,
I see that I have help after all,
like I've been given a chance'
a way of life.
I will live!
Because there, a few feet away,
is a person,
willing,
helping,
coaxing a loving hand to hold,
giving me medicine
to heel
my aching soul.
