Darling, What Large Teeth You Have.

by Britni   Jun 17, 2013

Words clawing up my throat,
entering my mind.
I try to cough them up,
but all I will find
is spitting up bloody lies, bloody lies,
the kind you like,
the kind you wanna hear,
oh baby dear...
and oh sweetheart, what big eyes you have,
all the better to watch you with, my darling,
and oh sweetheart what big teeth you have,
all the better to lie through with, my darling.
and now you see, i'm just another wolf in sheep's clothing.
and now you see, i'm just another villian of the story.
i'm a liar, i'm a fake
with a facade that never breaks.
I'm a wolf in sheep's clothing,
and your life I will take.

I know I shouldn't get near her
she will only tempt me further.
she will bring out the worst in me
she will unmask my beast.
And I know that I should at least give you warning
that I've never been someone sane.
there's always been something wrong buzzing in my brain
but I end up letting this happen.
I never knew your real name,
and I thought it was odd for someone to be called red riding hood
"My name is Fawn, Fawn Lawson."
And i thought it to be comical
"Hey, why are you laughing at me
it's really not that funny."
oh, if you only knew the irony,
baby deer,
deer darling.

this world is filled with liars
but i was the biggest liar of 'em all
this world is filled with foolish children,
hoods covering their eyes,
so of course they'd never see it coming
they would trust me all the time
you should never trust a stranger
they thought they really knew me
now i'm a stranger in their eyes
you asinine sheep
why did you go and trust me
but i guess i can't blame you
for being ludicrous animals
oh aren't we all?
Just dumb animals.

I didn't mean to...
just my nature...
This isn't my real face
the path lead by circumstances, brought me here ,
is to thank
for this...

So rest your head
On my shoulder,
But don't forget to pray
Because darling you may not wake.
And I hope you dream
Of a better me.
Not this one
Who has illusioned you darlin'.
What have I done?
I loved you too much.
I wouldn't let you run,
you'll be by my side
and i'll keep you for fun.
if this was ever love then i'd still hear your heartbeat.

knock knock,
they're at the door
guns and pitchfork slam the floor
"I told you nobody's home!"

I'm sorry love,
but somehow
they found out
about us.
If I open the door they will only find blood.
Should I let them in?
show them
the true creature without his skin?

Knock knock,
they become much blighter
and the guilt is getting tighter.
I can not stand it anymore.
I plan to pay for my crime
for killing this love, once mine.

And the wolf repented for his sin
and was murdered as well in the end.

Wow oh wow. This poem blew me away. Where to start. Hmm lets see. I love this poem because it tells a story.. about how some people feel inside. The inner beast that wants to come out..that is a perfect dark metaphor. You put so much passion an love and hurt into this peice. Unbelievable. 5/5.
