Heart Cadaver

by harleyquinn4479   Jul 4, 2013

We aren't supposed to die
but she's laying there
and I am here
standing by as she sinks
devoured by grass and mud
eating away at something precious
soulless body but you'll never smile
pale and weak
wrinkled and bloody
as the killer walks away
I try to cling
I try to grab
at the man who broke her
but that night I perished
along with my heart
as he pushed it into the ground
