First Shift

by WintersAngel   Jul 5, 2013

Stare into the woods
The moon is calling you
Your bones begin to tremble
You know what you have to do

Break into a run
And head for the clearing
Tear your clothes off before they rip
Because you know midnight is nearing

The elders are waiting for you there
They've already shifted
The weight of the moonlight
Is like a curse being lifted

Suddenly it hurts
Your bones ache and you wonder
"Is it supposed to feel like this?"
Then you feel like your falling under

Skin is being torn, replaced by fur
Your heartbeat gets quicker
Everyone cheers around you
But the air seems thicker

While reading this, I got an image of a werewolf running away as it starts to transform under the gaze of the moonlight yet there is a sadness inside the wolf and I got the feeling that it does not like what it has been turned into..an interesting read.
