The Tunnel Walk

by Dayo   Jul 13, 2013

A man walking through the dark tunnel
Never again thought he'd see the day's dawn.
Groping he was, till he felt the wall's surface;
By and by, he felt the hope of getting home
But couldn't fathom the world within
Why here? His mind thought, but able to proffer an answer it couldn't.
Yet it felt as though life's moment was o'er
Deep within, another conviction arose - life's still on with voices resonating from afar.
Drenched he was in sweat; praying to see a ray of light
Yes, Prayer answered!. Men of light approaching.
At last! he exclaimed, home I come from a trip so....

    I really like this. it just left me with alot of questions. the man seemed to be lost, or hoping for something.. maybe finding something? I am not sure.
    Great job!

    Reading this piece from the start presents a man without hope, but glad that there came a sunshine at midnight. Nice one, keep it up.

    I like this because it made me think...was this man a soldier/coal miner. There could be so many other reasons but ..he feels trapped regardless...eventually he is rescued and that also leaves it open for the reader's interpretation ..
