Human Nature

by Jaymi Lynn   Jul 23, 2013

Upon first sight,
It swoons the heart and bewilders the mind.
I knew it was nothing less noble than beauty
For nothing could ever taste as sweet or feel as ripe.
So I thought...
But in that moment when time stood still
And beauty lent a gaze that sent more than just a chill,
I withered beneath its touch; and not long after, I withered once more
But as the human I knew myself to be, not the coward I thought before.
