Love Doesn't Last

I've always said
love never lasts.
It always ends
in heartbreak
of some kind.

That's why I've always
guarded my heart,
I don't want that
to happen to me.

But I found someone who
found a way to get
through the walls
that guard me.

He understood
what I went through
and he truly cared for me
and wasn't fake.

But we found out
that he has to leave.
Go far away
with no choice in it.

Neither of us wants
him to leave.
I don't know
how well we could
do long distance.

I've always said
love never lasts.
It always ends
in some kind of
heartbreak.

I guess I was right.

    This poem is so sad but I loved the feeling of it. When you end up in heart break you don't want to give your heart away at all. Its not a great feeling but when you do find that one person its the most wonderful feeling in the world. I am sorry to hear he had to leave thats the hardest thing to deal with. But you are very brave telling your story. 5/5

    I'm not going to say I know how you feel, because I don't. But I am going to say this. Cherish the time you have with him. Make the most of it. And you never know, you could make it work out in the end.

    Aww, sweetie, love does last, you just have to give yourself to find the love that will. Everything always works out, you and i both know that.

    Anyway, the poem its self is extremely well done, excellent emotion and strong use of voice.
