Hold Us Down Like Anchors

by CarnivorousCoffin   Aug 29, 2013

An anchor bleeds
Waves crash upon the shore
Screams echo from Sirens
of Greek folklore
Seaweed yanks the life
out of everything
What was blue,
Now turns to a sickening green
Bodies float to the surface
faces frozen in terror
their lips cracked, pale blue,
eyes rolled into the back
of their heads
Proof that they were dead.
The ocean stole it's prey,
drowning, sinking, and
swallowing.
Lightning streaks across the sky
Thunder screams a silent
goodbye.
The wind blows a breeze,
pulling all those souls,
underneath the darkening sea
