My Storm

by shadow   Sep 4, 2013

Lightning starts to dance with the rain
The loud crackles of thunder quiver and shake
My heart beats a little faster
As ancient feelings awaken under its quake

This storm inside is coursing within
Stirring dark clouds in my head
Darkness consuming my every thought
As the cold rain soaks my skin with dread

My feet pound on the wet soil
Until the puddles gather into a sea
I am carried off into its black waters
Choking on the words trapped inside me

I struggle to stay afloat
My arms and legs tire out
The weight of this is too much
I can no longer scream for help

Soon these blacks water consume me
Until it becomes all that I know
The struggle is no longer there
I have sank much too low
