Showing No Mercy

Sadness familiar to me
Like an old friend it comforts me
They say pain doesn't last forever
But this is untrue
Maybe it does we just stop noticing it
Then when we least expect it
Washes over us like a tidal wave
consuming you whole.
Showing no mercy letting you know
it never left just took off for awhile.
So i don't like being happy
Cause i hate having the feeling
that everything's gonna be okay
When it really isn't.
