The Truth

by Some Random Human   Oct 8, 2013

Turn the page, on this storybook lie,
I heard you say, that we would be alright,
but now I see, all the tears you cry,
because of me, so why do you still fight,
fight for us, when our time has passed us by,
you're out of love, there's only pain tonight,
I'm not enough, so there's no need to try,
it's not worth the bluff, if you're broken inside,

Please stop lying, if you're dying,
deep down inside,
it's not worth trying, if you're crying,
when you're alone at night,
forget my health, if you're not well,
if it's killing you this time,
you forced yourself, through this hell,
and that just isn't right,

Just let me go, I'm not worth your time,
but I hope you know, that I'll love you 'til I die,
stop the show, this is such a crime,
if it ain't so, then why aren't your eyes dry,
I feel the pain, and it's killing me inside,
I'm to blame, I can hear it in your sigh,
too much strain, stop protecting my pride,
curse my name, and just tell me goodbye,

Please stop lying, if you're dying,
deep down inside,
it's not worth trying, if you're crying,
when you're alone at night,
forget my health, if you're not well,
if it's killing you this time,
you forced yourself, through this hell,
and that just isn't right,

Please stop lying, if you're dying,
deep down inside,
it's not worth trying, if you're crying,
when you're alone at night,
forget my health, if you're not well,
if it's killing you this time,
you forced yourself, through this hell,
and that just isn't right,

So just tell the truth, and turn the page,
on this storybook, on this charade,
there's no use, just leave today,
don't even look, just walk away,
'cause I'm not okay...

Sums up any relationship I've been in, lol. You seem to be skilled in writing in song. Reading lots of your work and I'm impressed. Some of the line in this are ultra moving and powerful. But a few forced rhymes you could easily replace for better ones. 5/5
