Loneliness

by joseph   Oct 30, 2013

My heart is heavy
As the world keeps getting colder
The light that once shined so brightly in my eyes have
Been swallowed into the night
Like a flower in the desert
The scorching sun has dried it out
I cast my pain out in to the current
Hoping it will be taken far from here
But it seems they have a way of
Drifting back ashore
Like trying to fit a square peg into a black hole

These restless nights have become
A force of habit
How I wish I could fall asleep
But when your dreams have died
whats the point
Like a beautiful story
The greatest chapters have
Flew right by
My once and beautiful story
Has come to an end
Spending my days alone in my thoughts
A heart that was full of love and compassion
Has turned to stone
Sweet love has turned into
bitter poisin
Calling out into the unknown
Hoping that someone will hear me
But here I am cold and alone
Trying to set myself free from these chains that are holding me down
