Love's Hymn

by Forever Hers   Nov 8, 2013

Where the river parts,
My heart does lie,
Awaiting the time
For shallow water's depart.

It is helplessly cradled
In the core of stones,
Battered and bruised
But vibrant.

It lays its eyes upon her
And the roar of the water
Dies into a hymn
Sung by the angelic light in her.

She reaches into the depths
And softly grasps my heart,
Pulling it out and drying it,
Keeping it nestled between her fingers.

Her lips graze it gently,
Placing a kiss that soothes
Each and every wound
That has ever found it.

My heart calls to me from her hands,
Whispering love's hymn
And telling me of her care,
Promising me security.
