An Empty Shell Remains

by Elex Diaz   Nov 11, 2013

Here I stand smiling,
With what's left of an empty shell.
All the feeling is lost,
No strength left to scream or yell.

I walk as a zombie,
Detached from life itself.
The one that broke me,
Is the only one that can help.

He walked out the door,
As I begged and pleaded "please don't leave!"
He didn't glace back
As he drifted off to deceive.

So here is what's left,
Of the woman I used to be.
The looks remain the same,
But I'm no one close to being me.
