The Cosmic Joke

by Mickaelia   Nov 15, 2013

A fate so delicately woven into the fabric of our beings

ours is just passing people. only crossing paths through life

during which time we may enrich, or aggravate each others lives.. briefly.

building memories onto memories, and a trail of past heartaches in your wake

and a nada to show for it, at the end of the evening

when your skin sinks into the sheets, and you reach out

for something to hold, eyes go wet and lips are dry

and you think and wish a many into your arms

or does your heart beat, like i know it could,

to the beat of the drum that tempers the melody of a destiny

that lights the sidewalks as you walk through your days?

imagining you, imagining them. live to the bar kismet sets for you.
