Three wishes

by Aa Harvey   Nov 28, 2013

Three wishes.

If I had a genie lamp and was given three wishes, no more;
Then my choice would be easy, for I know what I want for sure.
One wife, one kid and one house is what I would ask for,
Because that is all I’ve ever dreamed of since the day I was born.

One love is all I want; someone who will always be there.
A beautiful wife I could call my own;
Someone with whom my life I could share,
The good times and bad times, together we could make it, oh yeah.
Because love is the thing that gives us a new life,
When love is in the air.

Love makes us happy in a way nothing else ever will or ever could;
Because love is phenomenal and all love is truly good.
It guarantees happiness and gets us through the sad times too,
So my love I would do anything just to spend my life with you.

If I was lucky enough to become a father, then I would be blessed,
For that is my burning passion, that gets me through the stress.
It drives us on, this need to reproduce; I guess that’s love,
Because if I could have a child of my own, then I could,
Do whatever it would take to provide for this child of mine;
But I don’t think I’ll ever be mature enough, until I hear that first cry.

I want to provide for my family, like every father should,
But I have wasted my life away, smoking those drugs.
I need to find a way to be happy and make money too,
Because girl you are beautiful, so give me time to improve.

If you stand by my side, become my wife and love me forever,
Then you and I can have our baby to link us together.
We could never get away from being parents, it is a calling
And if we had a child together, it would stop me from falling.
It would stop me messing things up, because I would have to be a man
And not this silly little boy that I believe I still am.

If somehow I can provide and buy a home of our own,
Then we could raise our own family, our love link would be set in stone.
Never broken apart like all the families that came before;
We would last forever together through richness and through poor.

So you see I ask for these three wishes, all three;
So I can raise my own family and add our names to the tree.
The branch of my family would spread and one day I’ll be a Granddad,
But first things first, will you marry me, so I can become a Dad?
