Enjoyed reading this so much. There's something mystic and lonely about the ocean that pulls me in. It is almost haunting, that image of a lighthouse, then of being lost at sea. One's tears are lost in the waves as well as possibly one's identity or what others expect. Such depth in that it could be applied specifically or generally that you are lost in your own life. I know you're a Taurus (referencing to the bull in the last stanza) and your husband is Pisces? So you are defying what sign/symbol you are based on birth date, asking why you can't be another one (the Gemini) or characteristics of all of them at once possibly.

"I've come a long way from astrological predictions" - favorite line ever!!

Thank you for the awesome comment MaryAnne.... I'll tell you the basic outline of this piece. Whenever I'm talking to someone... and I say "Jim and I"- I say it fast... and it sounds like Gemini ... Jim teases me constantly... In my poem, Gemini means "Jim and I".

The poem is about being lost before I met him and how now, even during his time of illness.. we come together as a strong bond. I am a taurus and he is a Libra. :-) This poem was inspired by a moment I had years ago when I was sitting by the ocean, alone on the beach and taking that moment and combining it to now :-)

That is absolutely beautiful, Andrea! I'm glad you gave some insight and that you two share an unbreakable bond. Love is precious!

I love the "Jim and I" and Gemini pairing... very unique and something cute you both share.

You are making some awsome poems, gratulation on this
If happiness and loneliness where like ying and yang you would have gone a full circle.

This is a beautiful piece. How many times in life are we searching while lost for that beam of light to guide us back home. To finally feel as if the lighthouse has secured our loneliness our safety is worth every moment of struggle. A beautiful write.

You have drawn the loneliness of a lighthouse with the feelings of emptiness which surrounds it. Though a guide for others, yet no guide for its own journey..love has its ways..a touching write.

This poem is also great. There are a lot of ways to go with this. I think you are lost in life and needed to be saved and this person was the lighthouse in your life. They brought a brightness to your life that was no longer there. I loved the vivid imagery as well. I can see this person waiting on the beach crying into the ocean like a madian waiting for her love to come back from sea. But this does have a much happier tone than that though. Overall. This is a lovely write that may even be a dedication to this person you love. Very heart touching. Well done
