Loneliness...

by Siphosetu Candy   Dec 17, 2013

As the sun waves goodbye
And the moon says hello
That's when I started to realize I had no one else except this dark, cold night I had to deal with
I pulled my blankets and wrapped it on my body from head to toe but I still felt cold
And I knew it wasn't cold, it was
Loneliness...

It crept on me and held me close
It called me friend while I was afraid
I tried to breathe but my breath could barely come out
Even tried to call for some help but my throat was stolen and kept far away
I tried to be the impossible: the flower in the dessert
Till I asked myself where will I get water?'

My friend, come away with ME I heard you whisper.
I refused to answer, I knew it was you!
I woke up on my bed, stared at the window till my breath fell on the glass
I closed my eyes
I told myself I will be OK
Then finally the night came to an end
But still, I was alone

Why can't you leave?
Can't you see I'm no friends with people like you?
You keep following me

You're no match that's the very thing that had me thinking
Even a soldier is not a soldier without someone who's got his back, the army or a weapon
But, what about me?

I remembered something, you can learn a lesson even on useless things
Darkness taught me life
The meaning of life

L- loneliness
I- identifies
F- flaunt
E- endings

Darkness I fear you, but there's light
# loneliness...

The good use of personification in the work made it worth of my liking. The sun and moon were presented in line one and two as living beings with hands and mouth respectively. Loneliness was addressed as living beings with hands and mouth in these lines.... "It crept on me and held me close" & "It called me friend while I was afraid", Good one! ......................... |<<<<<But why is loneliness cherising you so much and you are not welcoming it! You said that it called you friend; why are you waging a war against it>>>>>| (don't mind the last part of my comment; funny me).
