18-24 Word Poetry

Fire Burning
The temperature inside my blue veins.
Rising whenever I hear your name.
The depths of hell cannot compare.

Old Friends
You never faded away from me
Your shadow cast by a stranger
Old Pictures. Old Friends. Old Memories.

Melting Snow
Snow turns to water every year
This is nothing new or shocking
You, like all good, must go

Him
Screw you. Not the good way.
Relationships are more than just sex.
Hurt her. I will hurt you.

Intertwined
You spite, whilst I admire you.
A rage fills the calming waves.
Love. Hate. Opposites really do attract.

Mom
Two years, three months, nineteen days.
God took you away from me.
Can you see I am trying?

Panic
Heavy breathing. Salty Tears. Broken Girl.
Triggering flashback to losing her innocence.
She will never fully be healed.

One Night Stand
Your kiss is sweeter than death.
Come lay with me just tonight.
Then repeat for six more nights.

Drugs
Light it up, pass it around.
Higher and higher off the ground.
Sleep it off. Come back down.

Polaroid
Can I freeze this moment without pressing pause?
Click goes the camera, out comes a photo.
Shake to reveal color; but I see nothing.

Siblings
Brothers; more like fathers when you weren't there.
Sisters; more like daughters afraid of the world.
Siblings; there in whatever form you need them.

Trains
Chugga-chugga-choo-choo ; next stop is ours.
We don't move; curious where this train goes.
We are at the end of the tracks.
