Omens of Horror

Wandering down a path into a forest so deep
Countless amount of trees.. What secrets do they keep?
Have they witnessed bloodshed
Or are they still as pure as ever?

Echoes of anger, I hear from the dead
Crows fly around me, was it something I said?

Ravens and vultures, not to mention black dogs
Circling around me, is it tonight I see God?

The forest starts burning, and symbols I see
Unexplainable omens of death, all around me

I should be afraid, and start to run
But I stand there. Paralyzed.

"This is the end of the page unwritten
All that is sacred shall burn."

His words are said, from nowhere
He has no body, but still, he is there

His words are calling to me with a frightening voice
Telling me that I am left without a choice
I must follow his teachings, stand and obey
Slay a hundred men, and their skin I must flay
Use all the blood for a fountain of tears
Leaving me to think of this horror for the rest of my years

His first name is Madness,
Middle name being Suffering.
His last name is Death,
And he has all three,
On humans brought down upon.

He without a face, can still speak and see
He without feet, can still move easily
He without arms, can still kill without hardship
He without justice, can still continue to live.
He without purpose, continues to torture us

For long gone justice and malice dissuaded
I fear no evil no more
While I cannot understand my darkest sire
I have learned to love the pain
My misery goes unchallenged
My mystery goes unknown
My darkness goes unblinded

And my sins never be gone

Following the path from whence I came
I seek to end this game
The lies I sire, I should hide in shame
For in the end, I alone must take the blame

Bound in a covenant,
Deep yet frail
I have lost myself
But the darkness has failed

A light of hope blinds me
And the ravens drop dead
The vultures starve within seconds
And the black dogs run in fear

I see my salvation
And I swallow my tears
Its shape is... It is just there

Once the sunlight comes,
I wake up in terror
Screaming, shouting
I can't feel nor hear

When suddenly I realize
There was never anything here...
