Love is selfish?

by Invisible man   Jan 23, 2014

Love is often taken as a natural, guarantied emotions all things feel, but it is not. Love is a gift. Given to those who give themselves to the most selfless extent. The extent that their existence is now created out of those they have given all for. Often seen in a parents self sacrifice for their child. The child who is part of the parents being, and the parents who are part of the child being: as is commonly said, we are our parents.

Love is said to be selfish, it is said that is an emotion in which you want the person for your own happiness. But in truth, true love is the most selfless gift which is passed on from one who has given all to the one they have given all to, through the freedom of choice to find happiness. In the rarest cases of true love, the gift is passed half way back, to share, as the person wishes the freedom of choice to find happiness for the other person as they have for them. They wish this more then their own self happiness.

Love is a gift... Love is of the greatest value... Love is not guaranteed...

Respect love, if you are lucky enough to receive this gift, and give it back to that person. You never know when it will end, and when it does, you will never feel the same love again.
