Murderer

by Abby   Jan 26, 2014

You're a murderer a murderer
You see
You killed the girl
Who used to be me
In the mirror reflected back at me
A stranger only I can see
No curve to her face
A smile you've misplaced
How you could just walk away
You murderer
How could you kill me

This is a very strong poem overall and very clear. The tone of sadness is throughout. It seems like here that you used to love a person and they hurt you badly. Or you are talking about yourself here. I love the use of the mirror reflection because when we see ourselves it's hard to see the good. The metaphor is great though. Because though this person did not "kill" you the depressiob you feel is sometimes a lot worse. Overall I loved this poem because it's short but its very powerful. 5/5
