Midnight in Springfield

by Marcus blake   Feb 6, 2014

I remember several years ago a night of bliss
Street lights and dancing I even shared a kiss
I held hands with this women that I very much miss
Several years ago and still that night I miss
I wasn't looking for her Downtown
That night
I had nowhere to go
And still somehow
With crowds and unknowns
She found me
Long hair and hazel eyes
Smelling like jasmine
She reminded me of early July
Liquor and clubs I've come to forget
Walking around the city
To the bridge back where we met
She pointed to the sky
Stars and moonlight blue
And in that moment
We kissed
With windy fall abound
And my heart made sound
Over and over again
