My lips trembled, but you would never feel their quake
My unspoken words banged against my barred teeth, but you would only see the smile
I cried myself dry, but the tears never washed over you
My mind was a battlefield, but you would never even see the remnants
My faith in promises had been shattered, but you would continue to fuel that which had been lost
I let flow crimson rivers, but they would never inundate you
