An Artist's Romance

by Smaccams   Mar 4, 2014

Dipped into a thousand colours,
I still struggle to paint you everyday.
Your ever-changing hues leave my paintbrush
Weary.
But I'll still keep on trying until the earth itself
Runs out of pigment.
You never cease to amaze me,
So why can't I capture these moments,
To show my friends just what immortal beauty really is?
I'd like to create a still life out of your timelessness,
And make a fine specimen out of your love;
But I will not ask you to stop for a brief moment,
Nor for you to close your eyelids -
As the glow in your gentles blues would then only be put to waste.
