Devils Can't Love

A devil
and an angel-
we never would've worked.

Me with my chains
and hunger for danger
and freedom
could never be loved
by an angel
such as you.

You, with your wings
and pure heart
and hunger for love
could never be satisfied
with a mess up like me.

I could never fly
with you and the other angels,
because, my dear,
devils can't fly.

I'm not an angel.
Devils were never
meant to love.
You were the loveliest of all
but I can't.

So take your lovely heart
and fly away
before I trap you here
with me in Hell.

Fly away
and find love
in a beautiful angel
that can give you
what you need.

A devil and an angel-
such a contradiction,
one that would've brought
the world's end.
