Oasis

by Gianna Cranston   Mar 23, 2014

I roam the house as if I was lost in the desert.
Lost, parched and looking for relief from the blistering sun.
But I fear I won't find help today, tomorrow, maybe not ever.

You're a mirage in my world.
I can see you, I can hear you, but I can never seem to touch you.

You're that sip of cool water that I yearn for,
but it seems my canteen is empty.

You've always been my oasis.
Lush, abundant with life and that sweet, life giving nectar called water.

But now, it's as if a sand storm swept through,
destroying everything that I loved and hiding it in the sands of time.

I mourn for the loss of that beautiful life.
Your love was my water, feeding me life and now I'm running out of time.

As I wander through this desert in search of water, I will not give up.
I know your oasis is somewhere, buried beneath the sand.

I will find you.
