Paul's Promise

by Chris Swiderski   Mar 24, 2014

Oh! worthless man that I am!
I trust in God to understand,
that whilst I sully my own hands,
I tread beside His holy plan.

Not to get in the way.
Not like the Sadducee's say,
with which to draw me away.
I wish to be in His day.

So as I follow "religion",
I ask "respect my opinion".
There is no need for division.
I'm simply seeking revision,
of my life.
Making it right by taking flight,
Escaping the plight of Satan's fight.

Never fear, nor should I tarry,
If with the Christ I wish to marry.
I pray:
This heavy weight that I must carry,
Be borne along in sanctuary.

This is a really good poem. i am not one to get caught up in religious poems because my opinion is much different than other peoples :) but, overall, this poem is amazing

Thank you Dani:) My only posts thus far are all of a religious nature; They are old works, from a time when I was studying the Bible. Whatever another's preference may be, that book holds some key lessons for life, and a lot of inspiration for myself.
      Glad you enjoyed it.
