Ascension

by Chris Swiderski   Mar 26, 2014

Unclouded eyes piercing through
My own unhealthy visage
What once was
It is now gone

Creating aspirations
Planning ahead all the rest
Though, conceivable
By any standards

Tried and true
These actions shall shine through
The nonsensical noise
of this mad, crazed land

Serenity of new surroundings
Well wanted and worked toward
May the void I had dwelt in
Become it's own

In heart, or in the real
This inner glow supersedes the darkness
Enveloping the interloper
And his sickening design

Handcrafting a humble home
For this halved heart
Keeping warm, the well stoked embers
of peace, love and civility

overcoming this loner's adversity
I walk the earth changed and unwavering
Never have I been in flight so high
Nothing, short of self-sickness,
May lead these wings to rot

Ascending far above
the hell of singularity
Befriended by the birds
Not of prey, but whom pray

Wow! Thank you so much Andrea:D That's really nice of you to say! Truth be told, since joining, I've really only been going through and posting my little book of poetry that I wrote when I was younger. Can't wait to start with newer writings, and looking at/commenting on everyone else's. Much love to you and yours!
