A lost cause

by Poppy   Mar 29, 2014

Every night she lies awake.
Motionless
The coolness of the tear spilled from her soul,
Rolls much too familiarly down her cheek.
He planted deeds in her heart.
As his lips caressed hers they blombed.
And just as quickly he left them to die.

He took everything with him.
What was left of her?
Nothing
But now her soul aches for him,
For all he once was.
Now everyday she can see and feel him slip
Further away.
His eyes are lost. She looks into them
And now, she sees a stranger.

A lifetime ago they once spent every minute
Growing up together.
Perhaps the sadest thing in life is forgetting someone who have you so much to remember.

He planted seeds in her heart and soul
A lifetime ago.
Ash is all that is left.
So why does her heart ache for a stranger?

Pm.
