Tainted Love

by Leanne Henry   Apr 7, 2014

I was smothered in the most luxurious of love,
Wrapped and weaved within the finest, floatiest fabric.
     A feeling of contented comfort,
All is well within my World.
As it spins on it's beautifully, unknowingly, positive axis.

While we played and giggled on our marshmallow whipped clouds.
I bathed in your reflection like a sun worshipper in the midday sun,
My heart would beat, skip and quicken to your drum.

     What happened ?

      Love... Love... Love

     Gone.
     Stolen.
     Cold.

     Left like a newborn,
Who's warm, nurturing ,comfort blanket had
     just been snatched,stolen, soiled.

A feeling of impending doom now replaces my unassailable position.
     Clouds dispersed and disheartened,
Turn back to black from red.
What is worse, if that is possible,
     So many unanswered truths...

     You...?
     Me...?

     Everlasting. Ever long. Evermore.
     Now, ever gone.
Unsure of what to feel, what to think.

     Numb, bitter, rage, vengeful,
     WHY?
     Pity, anger, waste, love, hate,
     WHY?
     Longing, broke, questions,
     WHY?
