Unlife

by Bryan   Apr 18, 2014

'Life is for the Daring' I'm told.
Really, I'd rather go on
Won't I regret it when I'm old?
I'd just be happy to wane.

But life is not the passage of time,
It is the passing of events,
And measuring it by day,
Is akin to breathing until you waste away.

So it is a privilege to live,
Exclusive to those who go learn,
While I am satisfied to contrive,
A life devoid of burn.

Life is not being alive,
But the reason we are.
