The Beginning Of Nothing

by Art K. aka CritiqualDad   Jun 11, 2014

I gotta shelter myself,
before I fall for you
Put 'em away on a shelf
What if those feelings are true?

The little things, you do and say
With a beautiful smile on your face
My heart is urging me, to stay
Treat you for eternity with grace

I want to make you mine,
cause you take away my breath
In my dreams, our hearts entwine,
enduring life and death

Too nice, to go for someone taken
Oh, what could've been
In the end, I remain forsaken
Hardening my skin

At night,
I drink endless beers
Out of sight,
cover up, my hidden tears

You can't see me
And all my fear
...C'est la vie
Goodbye my dear.
