Serenade

by Skyler   Jul 4, 2014

As I sit a world apart
A palpitation of my heart
Accompanies the note I've read

I cannot see the writer now,
I wish I could, I do avow
So I sleep, to dream, instead

Inside this dream, a wide array
Of invisible musicians play
A quiet Moonlight Serenade

And standing there, a memory
The one who wrote that note to me,
Whose lovely face will never fade
