You

by Gabrielle   Jul 19, 2014

I see you for what you really are,
A man full of patience disguised by his scars.
A soul full of dark mystery,
Scared to let down his guard.

I can tell when you kiss me
That you are holding something back,
I know you are new to this,
So I cut you some slack.

It is important to remember everyday
That a relationship worth having has to be done right,
Like any good structure that is built with time,
After all Rome wasn't built overnight.

I will love you with patience,
I will love you with ease.
I will try to be fair,
Even when we don't agree.

I'll show you my colors, my emotions, and moods,
I will blend them with yours
All mixed and askew.

I won't judge your imperfections,
I will celebrate what they made you.
Just love me back,
That is all I ask of you.

Well written. Like anything else, if love is worth having, it's worth being patient for and working for. I enjoyed this.
