What is the Matter with Gravity?

Gravity the adversary of matter,
Many dreams He seems to shatter,
Matter: "Up up away fly free!"
Gravity: "Not so long as there is me."

Matter yearns for the freedom it lacks,
Gravity denies constantly holding him back,
Matter: "Allow me temporary reprieve!"
Gravity : "I will not allow you to leave."

Matter feels imprisoned in chains,
'Neath the thumb of Gravity he remains,
Matter: "Why keep me locked in a grasp so tight?"
Gravity: "You'll stay in my grip and sure in my sight."

Matter now bitter, angry, confused,
He understands not why he can't be excused,
Gravity: "You wish to know why I'll not let you go?"
Matter: "Yes,Yes! I Truly do want to know"

Matter then pauses and awaits the reply
Then his enemy Gravity says with a sigh,
Gravity: "I intend not to hold you in chains or shatter your dreams"
Matter: "Well that's certainly the way that it seems!"

Gravity then shakes his head at matter's disgust
And thinks to himself: "Tell him I must"
Gravity: "Tis' God's design that I hold you together."
Matter: "My molecules stand alone in any weather."

Electrons, protons,neutrons, the atom,
All for naught if Gravity weren't at 'em.
Matter: "I wish to be free with all of my heart."
Gravity: "Friend, if I let you be, then you would fall apart."

Things in this life can make us feel trapped,
Things to which we desperately try and adapt,
From these we ought not try and escape,
But instead we ought stick to like tape.

For things that we see as holding us back,
Can often be that which keeps us intact.
For Gravity matters to Matter you see,
For Matter wouldn't matter without Gravity.

    Oh my gosh.... I love this poem.... This poem has such a deep meaning.... Each and every line has a depth in it which needs to be understood by each and every one of us....
    What I understood from this poem :
    In the beginning matter hates gravity as our is keeping it bound and not allowing it to be free. He feels that gravity is traping it on this land.. Taking away all it's freedom and not allowing it to pursue its dreams, reach its dreams.
    Although gravity explains him that he will get destroyed if he let's it go, matter just does not understand. In the end you tell us that just like how matter does not understand gravity we too blame many of nature's designs and find them as restrictive and obstructing.

    This poem is to good. The way you have written it is also remarkable. How in the starting two lines of each verse you describe their feelings and in the next two lines a conversation between them.......
    Even the title of this poem is very catch. It attached me towards it like gravity.
    Well.... This poem goes in my favorite list.
