Never Enough

by Sudo Nim   Aug 26, 2014

What kind of man do I want to be?
What type of life do I want to lead?

For love; for grit; for fear.
All these things I do misperceive.

I wish not to be small - to die a nothing death.
But a something death I know not to be.

We love and laugh, watch smoke rise from fire.
We burn in angst from a familiar desire.

To live with our minds, surely man's greatest trait.
Only to know of our inevitable fate.

Therefore we grasp, panic as time runs out.
Only ever wishing for an infinite bout.

Coming down from our cloud and every man's safe place.
Simply to realise the confine of this rat race.

To realise: to make do and get on.
Trying to squeeze in just one more bit of fun.

It's never enough

I love this. We all strive for more but its never enough. We all want more time once the end is near because we fear we didn't live. This is beautifully written.
