Solitary Moments

by Ana Pascua   Nov 3, 2014

In solitary moments
we tend to look within
We find ourselves thinking
of what might have been

In times with friends and laughter
those thoughts are pushed aside
And when these times are over
those thoughts come back to bide

In moments of clarity
we remember what went wrong
And then we find it's only
a very catchy song

In solitary moments
we pray that strife be over
We seldom stop to see
our lives are so much better

We're blinded by the sadness
we think and try to fight
the dark and lonely hours
oh where the hell is light

In instances with loved ones
we grin and talk and smile
But when it's time to go
we stay just a little while

In solitary moments
we list the lessons we learned
While some are still trying to find
the life we think we earned

In times of inebriation
we show that we're tough & happy
When the buzz has passed
the only feeling left is lonely

In these lonely moments
we stop and stare and sigh
Rid yourself of this sorrow
and lift your eyes to the sky

Remember that these moments
make us strong not sad
The life we're trying to earn
is one we've already had

    In a statement, well said.

Intense, descriptive writing with a meaningful message.

This solitary insanity is a poetic journey of it's own, we all experience it, innocently and indefinitely.
