Cancer Smoke

by Michael Angelo   Nov 15, 2014

The trail of smoke from my cigarette.
Your red lips on the hurt. The smoke in my lungs, though it was you who took my breath. The cancer you left behind. this tumor.. It's a memory inside my heart, not my mind. It beats with remembrance.
The cigarette in your hand. Stolen from my finger tips. The way you leaned so close, letting the smoke swirl. The way you danced with words, the way i danced with yours.
Each step brought down a wall, between the inhales of smoke.
We spoke of dreams and love, like kids in a play ground.. I looked at you, there was no world.
two lovers wrapped in cancer smoke.
