Aperture

by Aglaya   Nov 20, 2014

We've been sitting,
you and I

two breathing bodies
boldly taking breath
in and out
in and out.

It wasn't until yesterday,
(when your lungs expressed themselves
too diligently,
and a strand of your white hair
was plucked out and
held aloft by the current...)

that I realized we were two.
Two bodies set for different paths,

two airways receiving different air,
two people sitting,
breathing, bravely
in and out
in and out.

I never wondered until now
who would sit here longer.

(I will.)
I need your breath,
I need your bold.
I need your brave, too.
