I lost my best friend

by Savannah Newton   Nov 20, 2014

It was constant,
every night of the week.
Getting so wasted she couldn't even stay on her feet.
The bottle would pierce and poison her lips,
the drugs she took caused her to trip.
It wasn't a life a 17 year old should live,
the alcohol made her numb so she could forgive.
She would wake up each morning on the bathroom floor,
searching for bottles only wanting more.
Love is so cruel, it makes you feel pain.
so the alcohol she drank didn't make her feel so lame.
You gave up our friendship,I wanted you to make a change,
you drank that vodka until you felt strange.
Then one night the heartbreak came flooding back,
You ended up drinking so much, I had a heart attack.
I laid beside you on that hospital bed,
crying of hurt because of all the words left unsaid.
